Tips on choosing a location for your pre wedding couples photos

Choosing the right location for pre-wedding couples photos is crucial for capturing memories that will last a lifetime. Northern Ireland Wedding Photographer, Gemma G Photography, shares three tips to help you select the perfect location:

Consider your personality and interests

Take into account the your personalities and what they enjoy doing together. If you are adventure-seekers, a scenic mountain or beach location would be ideal. If they are city dwellers, an urban landscape might be more you. Also – don’t overlook your own home and surroundings to be the perfect background to creating meaningful photos.

Think about the lighting

Good lighting is key for taking beautiful photos. Look for locations with ample natural light, such as parks, gardens or beaches. During sunrise or sunset also know as ‘golden hour’ is the most flattering light of the day. You can also consider indoor locations with big windows or skylights to let in natural light.

Plan for variety

While one location may be great for certain shots, it may not provide enough variety for the entire photoshoot. Consider multiple locations that complement each other, such as a park for romantic shots, followed city streets nearby for more urban, edgier shots. This way, you can capture different aspects of your relationship and personalities, and end up with a diverse and interesting set of photos.

By considering these tips, you can find a location that is perfect for the couple’s pre-wedding photoshoot, and create memories that they will cherish for years to come.
